How to Stretch Your Trade Show Budget
by Olivia Rose on December 16, 2014
Exhibiting at a trade show or event can be pretty hard on your budget. Custom visuals, transportation, shipping, fees and staffing all add up pretty quickly. Of course, all that effort and money will be worth it when you make a splash at the event – but that doesn’t make the upfront investment any more affordable.
The easiest way to stretch your trade show budget is to look around at other event booths you like, and then find economical alternatives to the visuals you admire and want for your space. Then you’ll have a look as smart and professional as your competitors, but at a fraction of the cost they paid. If you shop around and do your homework, you can get great quality visuals that look, feel and last as long as the higher-end options.
1. Set the Scene
If your budget is tight, you need to create a high-impact display without spending big on all the individual items that make up your booth. The smartest way to get a professional, sophisticated look is to frame your space in two ways – with trade show flooring or carpeting, and a backdrop of some kind. We think the most economical, and most classic look is drapes.
A pipe and drape system is a simple and affordable way to define the borders of your booth, creating an inviting space that will catch visitors’ eyes as they pass by. In the same way, trade show flooring, or a carpet that fits your footprint, will clearly show off your space. If your budget allows, customize where you can – whether it’s custom drapes printed with your logo, or a custom plush carpet.
2. Dress Up Your Tables
The latest and greatest look for very sharp, stylish table displays is all about spandex. But obviously those snazzy, stretchy covers can cost more than your traditional polyester table cover. But don’t worry, you can still get that look if you’re on a budget – just check out our Stretch Mural table cover. This is one of our top selling visuals, and it’s easy to see why. You get full dye sublimation printing (unlimited colors) and top quality stretch fabric for a lot less than the guy in the next booth is paying! Save even more by choosing our classic, unprinted version.
3. Bring Out Your Banners
If your tight budget requires you to keep things simple and unbranded in most places, you can use banners to really announce your brand and your logo. Banners are great for trade shows because they’re easy to transport, set up, reposition, and take down. And you get a lot of bang for your buck when it comes to grabbing attention! While your competitors might be paying top dollar for retractable banners that look great under the indoor lights, you can get the same great look for a lot less money with our 3 ‘economy’ options – vinyl roll up, fabric roll up, and shape cut roll up banner.
